Real pétanque on your phone

BoulezEye is a 3D pétanque game for phones. Play full matches to 13 points against the computer or a friend on the same device, compete in the precision shooting contest, or practise pointing and shooting.

The rules follow the international pétanque rules, adapted for a video game. The presentation is a live TV broadcast: camera cuts while the computer thinks, slow-motion replays, a measuring view and an overhead view of the points at the end of each end.

The game is available in Finnish, English and French.

Game modes

  • Match

Singles (3 boules), doubles (2 × 3) or triples (3 × 2), played to 13 points. Opponent: the computer on five levels, or a friend on the same device. Pick the terrain: four levels of stoniness and three of hardness.

  • Shooting contest

The precision shooting contest: five ateliers at four distances (6, 7, 8 and 9 m). Each throw scores 0, 1, 3 or 5 (carreau). The maximum is 100 points.

  • Practice

Pointing or shooting on any atelier and any distance from 6 to 9 m, without scoring.

  • Tournament

A drawn knockout bracket against computer players. You choose the number of entrants and the level of the field.

The throw

Touch the pitch to choose where the boule lands. Pull down from the start ring and swing up, like an underarm throw. Where the swing ends sets the arc: low for shooting, high for pointing. Its speed sets the power, and a slanted swing turns the line.

Throw standing or squatting: squatting makes pointing easier and shooting harder. Throw assist (a lot, a little or none) sets how much of your error the game corrects.

No ads, no tracking

The game has no accounts, no ads and no analytics. It has one optional "Support the developer" purchase, and in version 1.0 it unlocks nothing. Settings and progress stay on your device.
